What Is That Mink and That Goat Doing?!

Cashmere. Mmmm. Mink. Lovely, but don't want to really wear their pelts. But what about mink and cashmere yarn?

Of course, while I may dream of such things, someone actually went and did it. I found out through the Knitter's Review - Yarn Profile: Great Northern Yarns Mink Cashmere.

Go read. I'll wait.

You know I hopped right on over to Great Northern Yarns and checked out the stock. After some dithering on my part, and a rather unexpected yarn sponsorship, I chose the Jet Black in DK weight and the Natural in DK weight.

They arrived today.

O. MY. HELL.

You think cashmere is soft? You think cashmere and camel down is soft? You think cashmere and top merino is soft? Go get your hands on this yarn.

While you can still feel the spinning oil, as Knitter's Review stated, you can feel how soft this yarn is...I'm going to leave it with the oil on it, based on the review. I'll wash it after the scarf I'm going to knit (seed stitch) is finished.

By the way? Craig Turner is a very nice person, who sent me a lovely email confirming my order. And the order was shipped incredibly fast!

So I'm saving this yarn as my reward for finishing the CoM's shrug (70% finished), the Tiny Beehive Tea Cup Cozy, and my Noro scarf (which is a reward on its own!).
