Oh, decidedly so!
I went to the killer abs and ass class at the gym with the Child O'Mine and did the modified exercises the chiro and I discussed. I'm sore, tired, but not in pain or exhausted.
Today was also treat day, so when I was at Dunn Bros. with the SnB posse, it was a hot chocolate and a strawberry pastry today:
And I started the next baby sweater:
Now that my homework has been turned in for today, dinner has been eaten (mmmm, Chinese black pepper chicken!) and the dishes cleaned up, time for Tank and I to snuggle on the couch with a fire in the fireplace, and watch some PBS.

Rest
No knitting content here. I'm taking a bit of break and just working on finishing a simple hat before I begin the next baby sweater for a shower in March.
Here I give you evidence of Tank's slow maneuvers to take over an entire bed:
She caught me photographing her, so she squinches up again being all cute:
Finally, she can't pretend any longer:
What? It's not like you don't snore like a fully loaded freight train or anything...

Pouty McPouty
People think just because the Tanks's a basset hound with itty-bitty legs, she's a little thing...no. She's a full hound in length, breadth, and body weight. Tank is 48 lbs of stubborn basset hound love.
And she labors under the delusion she's a teacup poodle and a lapdog to boot.
Tank would prefer to take up her lounging position on my lap when I'm reading or just kicking back with some PBS or a movie. Not a problem.
The problem is that she sees no difference when I'm trying to knit. So I have to shoo her off to the side and let her lie against me. Not good enough.
Look at that face:
Yes, she had stuffed her face into my project bag:
Finally, after 40 minutes of whining, sighing, shifting about, she just pushed through all my things, and had a lie down on me and the knitting.
Tank is an appropriate nickname, I think...

Smitten
I *never* would have used that word with sock knitting before my SnB buddy, C., handed me that sock book back in January. Now? Once I get the gift knitting done, I'm casting on more socks for myself. I have so many skeins of sock yarn now, I can't wait.
Speaking of which, here are better photos of the yarns I picked up with in Tucson.
From Purls:
Those above are "half bits" of sock yarn; 50 yds of remnants from Pagewood Farms sock yarn runs. Only $2 each, enough to do toes and heels.
From Tucson Yarn Company:
A huge thanks to my very gracious, witty, and fun nephew for trekking around Tucson to find yarn shops I wanted to visit :)

FO #6 - Mitts of Warmth
I love these mitts:
I reknit them after the other pattern made the mitts too large for my hands.
* * * *
The down and dirty details:
YYarn(s): Malabrigo Yarn Twist, Tuareg
Purchased: Loopy Yarns, Chicago
Needles: size 7
Time: for me - 8 hours; for most knitters, 3-6 hours
* * * *
(Thanks to C. for modeling my mitts. It's difficult to get two-handed shot on one's own...)

I'll post FO #6 later (fingerless mittens reknit), but for now here's Savannah's Tulip Sweater completed, with 5 hours to spare:

Spinning My Wheels In Dallas
Flight delay out of Tucson (some kind of inspection) made the flight out 25 minutes late.
I made it to my connecting gate at 1 minute after they closed the door.
Really.
No shit.
When I wrangled my temper back under control - I knew it could be worse.
I had a food voucher to help pay for a late lunch.
I have my knitting:
And I have some liquid happy going on:
My friend C is going to bring Tank to the airport and pick me up. And I get to sleep in my own bed.
Fingers crossed.

The Clock Is Ticking
The baby shower is February 20th.
I won't be able to work on it for a period of 5 days due to a prior commitment.
This is how far I've gotten:
It's not clear in the photos, but the colors are soft peach and light pink:
I don't have much further to go - a bit more on the body (4" I think) and the two sleeves, then the trim around the neck and front. Possibly a button or toggle, I can't decide until I get the trim down.
I can clear this in a week.
I think.
